I want to upgrade my cpu and mobo. My RAM is new, so I really dont wana throw it away. I am thinking about getting the 9590, and gigabyte 990fx mobo. My question is can I run 9590 on basic cooler, wraith or something like that?

Solution

I'd go with the 1500X option. You don't come out ahead buying the 9590 in any scenario really. It's one of the worst CPUs ever made. The 1500X would be the more...
1° AMD states that FX-9590, being a 220W TDP cpu, requires a robust liquid cooling system. http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/fx#
2° You'll find many threads on this website referring about FX-9590 being unstable even at stock frequencies.
3° Don't know for how much you'll get cpu+motherboard combo, but I'm pretty sure you can get a much better (Ryzen or Intel) system for the same amount of money or less.

If you're thinking of investing in an FX-9590 at this point, just take your money and light it on fire directly and save the trouble. FX 9590 is one of the worst CPUs ever made.

If you want AMD, go for the R5-1600 and a B350 motherboard - far better combination. But really, avoid the 9590 like the plague.

I am getting 9590 at Rs.11,850, in newegg. dats $183 and 11k gigabyte mobo.. the RAM is satisfying at this moment.. I need the cores, for service oriented work. Intel's i7 6th gen is good, also single core speed is also far better, but then again I am stuck with 4Cores.. the thing is I need the Cores.. ryzen 7 1700 is 22k at this moment in newegg.. I mean only the processor is 22k, so you see I am stuck at here. I get it what all of you are saying, I have read the posts and the complaints, all I want to know is that, if I buy CM H80i, can I run this dumbass processor?

What about Ryzen 5 1500X? it cost ₹13,275 and has the same amount of cores and threads as fx-9590, but ryzen 1500x has better ipc, needs way less power and comes with a thermal solution.
As ccampy stated you need a 220mm aio, h80i is 120mm.

Damn, ok.. fine.. Thanks you guys for your input.

I'd go with the 1500X option. You don't come out ahead buying the 9590 in any scenario really. It's one of the worst CPUs ever made. The 1500X would be the more affordable Ryzen CPU and it's far better than anything else you can buy in that price range. And there wouldn't be any need for a cooler. AMD's Wraith coolers are very excellent for a bundled cooler.
