Can i run GTA IV, COD MW3, and maybe the coming GTA?

Hello everyone,

Next thurday i'm going to buy this PC:

Processor:
Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor s1155 (8M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz) so 3,4Ghz turbo to 3,8Ghz.

RAM:
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333 mhz

Graphics card:
Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5.

Motherboard:
Gigabyte ga-z77x-d3h



Will i be able to play GTA IV (all 3 versions), COD MW3, and maybe the coming GTA V, if so, with nice quality without it stuttering?

just update your video drivers too they do not update on there own. Even on auto update. then you will be a.ok.

Ummm, not at highest settings, you would need a better card for that (yours is mid range at best) , but they will all play well...

Downgrade the i7 to a 3570K or 3570(non-K) and use the extra money for a 7870(at-least) which should let you play pretty much all games on high if not ultra.

Because i want to play Mw3, GTA IV on maximum settings.

And i asked this because i really want to be sure if i can play atleast GTA IV series on the best settings...

Atleast untill i can buy a different graphics card.

Because they won't bring the pc to me.. i have to drive 350 Kilometers to get it..

Your card cost around £70 , my card (7990) cost £760 ...which do you think is the high end card ??

I'm not much of a gamer but i like GTA so does my little brother so i was like i buy a rather good pc i get to play GTA IV some times then once im bored of it again he gets the pc.

but there ARE high end cards available for the motherboard i've posted on main post?

The PC i'm buying will cost me 500 euros, so $661.34 dollar..

is it worth what i'm getting for it?

CPU (Central Processing Unit) - the Processor. Basically a hugely powerful calculator that does every calculation that your computer has to do. Every instruction goes through there.
GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) - the Graphics Card. Everything that appears on screen on your monitor runs goes through the GPU. The more powerful it is, the better 'graphics' you have - although this is an extremely basic explanation and in reality is much more complex.
PSU (Power Supply Unit) is how much Power your computer has to run all the components.

The point that the rest of the guys are making is that you have a very powerful CPU and an average GPU for playing GTA IV in the build (the breakdown of the computer) that you've listed. GTA IV is not a well optimised port (taking a game from one platform and putting it onto another).
Depending on the resolution of what you wish to play it on (the number of pixels width and height on your monitor) the GPU in your build will probably struggle if you want to play it with all the extra graphical options that a PC game can give.
Ask the company that is building your PC if you can have a slightly less good CPU and upgrade the Graphics card. I use Nvidia Graphics Cards myself, but as ryanwyvill1 says, get a 7870 if you want to 'play it on the best possible settings' as you said yourself.

Had 5 minutes before I'm out for New Year, so thought I'd just see if anybody had commented on the thread. Can you find out the resolution of the monitor that you'll be playing it on?
It's just, I don't know of a monitor that does the resolution 1366x1024. Usually, it's 1280 x 1024 OR 1366 x 768. Not saying that you're wrong, just wanting to make sure.
And so you know, the Graphics Card that comes with your PC that you were thinking of buying will run the game. It will run it at those resolutions and it will run it fairly smoothly - my GTX 260 ran it at 1920 x 1080. However, if you're wanting to play GTA V (if it comes to PC - no announcement yet sadly) then the recommendations that people have made are for 'future-proofing'. A term that's overused, but will keep games looking fresh for the next couple of years.
At the end of the day, no matter what, your games that you've listed will look much better than on console due to the sheer power of your Graphics card no matter whether you go for the one that you were originally looking at or a more powerful one. It's all a case of making the most for your money.
