His system doesn't met specs for Low 1080p but there are other Resolutions to consider. @1280 X 800 on Normal settings it will play on a Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 3,30GHz. + Sapphire HD5570. Recommended specs are expecting you to play 1080p and hold 30fps on low settings, drop the Resolution and it is playable on older hardware.

You will be surprised what will run the game with lower expectations.

I didn't say it wouldn't run. I implied that I wouldn't spend $60 on a game that may not run on my current system; requiring that I spend even more money just so I can get it to run. Rather, I wouldn't even try.

And that is where Google comes in handy, he can easily find what is playable and what is not.

And if I believed everything I read on the Internet, I could lose 50 lbs a week by eating nothing but cheeseburgers and be a multi-millionaire by the time I'm 50 (not that far away).

Let's be serious. They post minimum system requirements for a reason and it's not because the game won't run on anything less. They post minimum system requirements because game developers do not want to deal will all the issues that stem from lower based systems. Can it run? Maybe. If it doesn't, the only help you're going to get from the developers is, "Upgrade your system". If I spend $60 on a game and it doesn't run on my system, I'm going to want more help then that. Hence, I'm not going to spend $60 on a game whose minimum system requirements exceed the system I have.

Okay lets gets something straight here, damn near every game on the market will run 1280X1024 on a e6550 and a 450 GTS. Since he has a 2gb card he has something faster than a 450 GTS.

My lowest spec system is a E4500 @ 3.3ghz matched with a 450 GTS. So just for you I went out to the playroom and took the time to install GTA 5 and it ran just fine using normal settings and 1280X1024. I was able to get 1360X768 and a little higher settings to work with no skipping or big Lag spikes except in once instance when driving. If the OP has the ability to overclock that CPU even a little and a 2gb Card GTA will run with little to no issues. So before you go tossing your Knickers and marching off in a Hissy the game will run for him just not @1080 and high settings. There are multiple youtube posts and other forum post to back this up, it will take you a good 20 seconds at best to see the results.

.

OK. When the OP comes back saying the game doesn't run on his system, you can take the 20 seconds it takes to Google the posts that say his system can run the game. Of course, that doesn't help the OP at all because all he knows is that the game doesn't work on his system.

Then you can spend the next couple of days trying to walk the OP through trimming down the processes that start at boot up, verifying that his system has all the latest updates, and how to turn down the settings so that it might work because other than WASD, he hasn't a clue how to navigate through his computer.

I never said the game wouldn't run. I only recommended the OP not waste $60 on a game his system is not equipped to run as per the recommendations of the game developers.

I can back delaro on that. I've run this game on my old C2D and low profile Asus GTS 450, and it does indeed run well. It had tons of stuttering issues at first, because of not having the recommended drivers. After installing the proper drivers, the stuttering issues were all gone. I was able to run the game at 720p and at low settings and manage 30-45 FPS.

The OP's CPU makes me a little concerned, but I too am sure he has something better than a GTS 450.
I don't mean any disrespect Wolf, but I'm talking from my own experience with this game. It's very optimized, minus the memory leak issue.

With my Core 2 Duo 2,4ghz without overclock, 4gb ram and 2gb GTX960 I get 15-25fps on all low setting from 720p to 1080p. Changing resolution have no effect on framerate on my computer. Even at all all setting at max with more memmory usage then recomended I get 13-20fps at 1080p. With slow cpu you get low framerates no matter what you try...

There is no reason why @ low settings you shouldn't average 35fps 14 fps minimum. With overclocking to around 3ghz it would probably be closer to 20fps minimum. If you have Overclocking capability a Q9500 $37 Ebay Overclocked to 3.5ghz "Light O.C" will stay above 25fps in medium settings. I know quite a few people that still have Q6600's and play GTA V so it is possible to get playable frame rates.
