I have a 2070 super along with a EVGA G2 750w power supply. I was wondering if I could get a splitter for one PCIE cable and run my 6+8 pin card off that? Mainly would like to do this to clean up my cables a bit. Are there any side effects to doing this? I've always ran 2 PCIE cables to my GPUs, but my meshify c mixed with the long G2 cables make it hard to fit everything in that case as tidy as I'd like.

Solution
Use 2 cables from the PSU.

While 1 might be able to give enough power to run the card you will get better stability using 2 cables from 2 different ports on the PSU.
Are there any side effects to doing this?
Yes there are. Melted cables for example.
