My old pc had an AMD Radeon HD 8470, and my new pc has an Asus Strix GTX 970. Is there any way in which I can combine the power of both the 8470 and the 970? I know I cannot use Crossfire or SLI because they are AMD and NVIDIA, but is there any way to do it otherwise?

Solution
guymarshall, NOPE.

Forget using Nvidia and AMD GPU's together. Even with the tech, it'll be a BIG mess. There'll be a LOT of glitches in game.

Go with 2 SAME cards of any of them you like. I think a 2-Way Nvidia SLI with good cards will be good enough to run any game up to date on 1080p :)

Will they work together in games or will I have to use either one or the other? I will only be using one monitor.

Ok so I will just use the 970 for gaming and give somebody the 8470 as a present (a pretty bad one haha).

Just like I said, no.

I ran an Nvidia and AMD card together in one system, had both drivers installed, and weeeeeeeeird stuff happened, so not realy unless you find some modded drivers that are made to work together (such as using an Nvidia card for dedicated PhysX card).
