Hi everyone,
I'm upgrading the graphics and CPU of an old Compaq I have, and I'm debating between a 300w psu or a 400w psu for it. I've tried multiple psu calculators and I get completely different results. So I've come here. Will I be able to run these parts on a 300w psu or do I need to go bigger with 400w?

Specs:
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 6000+
GPU: GeForce 9800GT
HDD: 7200rpm SATA
RAM: 2 x 2gb DDR2

Solution
Looking on Amazon they have 430w PSUs by Corsair and Thermaltake that start at about $40.00. Newegg has comparable prices. They support pci-e which you should have even for that old of a graphics card. They are rated 80 plus Bronze which will give you 322w of continuous stable power.
