I'm having a build done with a 5600x and a gigabyte vision 3070. I have to decide on monitors and I'm going to use triple 32's for sim racing. I'm getting different answers but can I run trip 1440's at decent settings getting reasonable fps? Or do I need to stick to 1080?

Solution
It really depends on the game, graphical settings and stuff like that.
Racing games and rigs aren't very common anymore (Were they ever...?)

So stuff like this is pretty much uncharted territory.

I believe a 3070 is enough for 50-60 or more fps in most sim games, with details on medium-high at 1440p (for 3 monitors)
If it was a single monitor, i'd expect around 4k ultra 80-90 fps.
so make that 1440p ultra to around 120-130fps, 1440p medium-high around 160-170
divide by 3 and you get 50-60 or so fps on each monitor.

Obviously the math totally doesn't work like that in the real world, but I guess it a rough approximation.

Physical monitor size in centimeters, inches etc. does not matter. Resolution matter. Three 1080p monitors with standard resolution make 5760x1080 picture. 6.22M pixels, 33% less than 4K. With 5600X CPU and RTX 3700 GPU you will get 50-60 FPS in average. Want more, use RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6800. But there is other issue - variable bitrate in RTX cards does work only over DisplayPort. For triple monitor setup you must get a card with 3 DisplayPort outputs. Or go for AMD RX 6800 series card where variable bitrate works also over HDMI with FreeSync capable monitors.

The rx 6800 is actually just as fast as the 3070. The 6800XT is faster.
