hello guys i am going to update my ram so basically i need some suggestions regarding its compatability first of all here's my system specs
i5 4590 3.3 ghz
Asus B85M gamer
4gb ddr3 1600 + 4 gb ddr3 1333 mhz ram twinmos
Sapphire dual X R9 270 OC gpu
Transcend TS 128G SSD 370s
and 1 tb samsung hdd
and TT smart 530 w psu
so basically i will add either a 4 gb ddr3 1600 or a 2 gb ddr3 1600 , in order to run all of these on 4+4+4 or 4+4+2 will it increase or decrease performance and what about its compability ? will it be better than standard dual channel plz answer thanks :)

Solution
You will not run triple channel. Those parts only support dualchannel=motherboard/cpu.
When just adding one stick wil it run single channel next to the dualchannel you already have.Better would be to add 2x2 or 2x4gb for keeping dualchannel.

To mention it,adding ram can give incompatibility issues so keep that in mind,ddr3 is less forgiving in that aspect. An artikel that says some things about that (and other "stuff")

look at chapter 2 "Just Add More DRAM"
