Can I save the contents of my old SSD to my hard drive, and then transfer it back to my new SSD, if so, how?

I just got a new Samsung SSD and I was wondering if I could transfer the files from my old ssd to my hard drive, take out the old ssd, put in the new ssd, and reinstall windows an put the files back.

Why not disconnect the HD, connect the new SDD, clone the old SSD onto the new SSD?

Samsung SSD's come with software just to do that.
