as the title says but to elaborate, I've been playing a lot of old school games recently, most of all Elder Scrolls Arena, now in Arena and Daggerfall, to attack you have to ready the weapon then hold the right mouse button and move the mouse to attack, moving the mouse down will do a downward slash, up will do a thrust, left and right will do a horizontal slash in that direction and diagonal will do a diagonal slash in that direction, now because of the algorithm of the games, diagonal slashes suck and thrusts are to short of range so i want to do horizontal slashes, but 75% of the time when i move the mouse left or right it's registering a diagonal movement.

moving onto the question cause i spent to long on this anyway, is there a way that i can set say the period key which does nothing in game, to do a right click and mouse movement right or left when i press it?

Solution
Pretty simple, no programs required. Press Left Alt+Left Shift+Num Lock, then press yes. You will be able to move your cursor with the numpad ARROW keys(8 for up, 4 for left, 2 for down, 6 for right). If nothing shows up, just try to move your cyrsor with the numpad keys. If it doesn't work, press the num lock key once. you can configure speed and acceleration speed of the cursor by typing in windows search "control the mouse pointer with the keyboard"
