is it posible? i changed the cooler on my reference 1080 with an aio liquid cooler, which is why i want to sli my reference with another liquid cooled 1080, however the memory express near my house only has the ftw edition. can you tell me if there will be compatibility issues

Solution
The only issue is you can't use the new style bridges designed for the pascal cards. You would need to use the old flexible low bandwidth version.

? They are 100% compatible. You're right in that the cards will run at the lowest clock given, but the founders could easily be OCed up to the FTW edition, or close enough.

They are 100% compatible and will run great in SLI.

someone told me that the ftw 1080 had a different layout then the reference design, also i think the ftw has 8 pin power connector while my reference only has a 6 pin powerr connecter wouldnt that cause problems?

No, power connectors just need to have the right connector coming from the power supply.

Different layout isn't a problem as long as SLI connections are in the same place and the SLI bridge is able to reach (like pointed out above, if one card is wider, then you cannot use a rigid HB SLI bridge)
