Can i SLI???

Hi i wanted to have 2 gtx770's in my pc and i dont know if i can with my motherboard it is the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

No you can't because the other slot only runs at x4:

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)

If you slot a 770 in an X4 slot it's not true SLI need at least a x8 slot.

No because the x4 slot is too slow , needs to be at least x8 to see a benefit in performance.

Its not recommended to run 2 cards in SLI mode at x16/x4 speeds,because it doesn't perform as well as dual x8/x16 in almost all games and the performance gap is quite significant.

First things first, that board does not support SLI, Crossfire only.

Also make sure that your PSU is at least 750w (good quality) and has the proper power connections for the 2 GPUs. That may be another limiting factor for SLI in your build.

You all have been telling him reasons not to run SLI on that board, disadvantages of using the second 4X slot with another 770 etc.
I am saying the main reason he cant run SLI is because the board does not support it, he cant do it even if he wanted to with the 4X slot.
