can i split the screen to include a word doc and an internet page?

If you are referring to having two windows (browser and Word document side by side), then YES.

Open the browser (Internet Page) click on the restore down icon (maximize icon) (the icon in between the minimize icon and close icon on top right).

One you click it, you will be able to resize the windows accordingly. Do the same thing on the Word document and place them side by side.
