I want to replace the thermal Pads on my reference 1080TI to see if I'll get better temps, but the thermal pads I bought are much thinner than the ones that already came on the card, the thermal pads I got are like paper thin and the ones on the card are like 3 or 4 times thicker. can I use the thin pads that I got? can I can I cut about 3 of the same shape out of the pads I got and put them on top of each other to make it thicker or will that not work?

Here's the a picture of the thermal pads that came on there http://imgur.com/a/lMWOc
Here's the ones I bought http://imgur.com/a/ci4oK
In the pictures they both look the same thickness but the ones I bought are about as thin as an a4 sheet of paper

Solution
You can but I don't suggest you do it. Every time you stack a pad a small amount of air will be between them. Air is an insulator and it will counter act the thermal performance of the pads. The more you stack the more air in between them. I think you see where this is going. Your better off ordering some new pads.
