Can i stack video adapters?

I am connecting 3 displays to my computer. I am using the built in graphics for the monitor, thats one display. Then i have 2 projectors , 2 dvi ports. One is a dvi-a i have an adapter for dvi-a to vga. The other is a dvi-d. Can i use a dvi-d to hdmi then a hdmi to vga safely?

DVI-A exists as a spec, but I've never seen it in the wild. Can you link your card? Do you have a card or is it only onboard? Which onboard do you have? How you do this depends on what you have.

You can "safely" stack display adapters of any kind. They may not work or function normally (e.g. flashing screen, etc), but you're not going to cause permanent damage to anything.
