Can i still overclock?

I have an amd x4 860k and a msi 7906 motherboard (my pc was was pre built by hp but i changed the cpu into something better) I did some research and found out that all pre built hp computers bios are locked and i was wondering if i could overclock my x4 860k to 4.2ghz using amd overdrive to stop the bottleneck with some games.
If i can what should i set the voltage to when its 4.2 ghz?

You can try but it's software based and not very reliable. Whatever you do, don't let Vin0 voltage go over 1.5v. with stock CPU cooler I don't think it will let you go over 1.4v without overheating.

So I will still potentially be able to overclock it with amd overdrive?

Yes, it should work, limited BIOS settings options doesn't mean they are not there, just don't show. AOD doesn't change settings permanently in BIOS itself. Just be aware that it's still just SW so it can be corrupted and may not give you as good results.
