first of all, i'm not yet familiar with computers because the lack of time to learn, please forgive me. I was wondering if I can install a new( modern) graphics card on a old system ( about 6 years old ) so i can at least play games like assassin's creed, borderlands, etc. smoothly. For me, I really don't care about high settings, I just want to play new games. I'm asking this because I lack the cash to but a new rig so i can only try the graphics card.

Can anybody help??? please.

A 7950 would be ridiculous overkill for 1360x768. Something like a GTX 650ti or a HD 7770 would be perfect for you.

You could even get by with a HD 7750 for sure, a 6770 probably, and a 6670 maybe.

What kind of motherboard/CPU/PSU/case do you have? How much money do you want to spend? Im thinking a GTX 650 Ti Boost will probably be a good fit for you, but better make sure the price works for you and that it will work in your comp.

My CPU is a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 x2 3600+
motherboard GA-MA69G-S3H
My budget can go only go up to 400$
Sorry if this comp looks pathetic, but I believe it can still play new games with a new gpu cause i can still play LoL with this system without any GPU installed

The psu is a 500w... dont know if u need the model type though

For your case I would recommend a 7950 that can be found anywhere from $180 to $200. That will run every game out right now, a lot of them at high settings with high fps, it will excel at the games you listed. I don't see any reason you should spend more than $200ish for what you want to play.

edit: Yes you will be fine with your 500W PSU.

Okay thanks. Can i ask one more thing, can you give me at least a recommendation on 7700 products rather than a 7900. From my point, i can save more than the one you suggested. Though i don't know if any of them will work on my system
Sorry if this annoys you
