can I swap a cpu with another one that supports my motherboard without changing motherboard

I have an Asus m4n68t-m le v2 motherboard with amd sempron 145 processor,8gb ddr3 ram (4+4) nvidia geforce gt 710 2 gb ddr3 graphics card...I was wondering if I could swap the amd sempron with amd athlon that supports my current motherboard without having to buy another motherboard..and can I use it for gaming?

Go to your motherboards support page and find the list of compatible cpus, find one that is a quad or 6 core in your budget that is atleast 3ghz or faster

It depends, make sure that your motherboard supports the new CPU more than physically. So go to the motherboard support page and find a list of CPU's that are supported by it. Then do a BIOS update to your motherboard to ensure that the new CPU will work, then go ahead and buy your new CPU and it should slot right in with no issues.

that should be the fastest CPU that will work in your board, just make sure you do a BIOS update first or it may not work.

I would have loved to buy that...but that processor costs about 34,500 INR in my country (India)..Can you suggest an affordable gaming cpu please
