Can i Swap SDD to new Build?

Hello Everyone,

I have a question, i travel alot so i decided i will build a mini-itx build and i want to keep the cost at a minimum.

So i was wondering, when i go traveling can i just use the SSD's with windows/games installed that is on my main desktop, plug it to the mini-itx build and have it work straight of the bat?

Unfortunately not. 90% of the time you'll encounter the BSOD. Even if it does work (and I've seen some WIN8's work), it'll have incorrect drivers, which means distorted display and bad performance.

Damn, you are right i completly forgot about the drivers lol.

Well what about an SSD that only has Data stored in it? can i hot-swap to another build without issues?

Oh yeah. Videos, photos and documents don't matter. Operating systems, games and software are more complicated, as they use resources from multiple locations, and have ties in with hardware.

Yes no prob... If your using the ssd just as straight storage device then yes that would be 100% fine!!
