can i swap these CPUs?

i was just given a Dell Optiplex 780 small form factor with an Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 3.06ghz CPU.

my question that i hope someone can answer is whether or not i can just swap processors with another 780 that has an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0ghz processor?

would that simply be "plug and play" or would i have to make other changes?

i didnt know if the BIOS would need changed or updated or what?

They both use the same socket so would be interchangable. I wouldn't imagine any bios updates are needed, check the release logs of the bios updates to see if there's any relevant updates if you're in doubt.
