can i take a old laptop hdd and just plug it into my new pc

I want to get files of the old hdd in the laptop im currecntly unscrewing the hdd if i plug the sata in my new windows 10 pc will i be able to boot my normal new pc drive and just copy and paste the files from the laptop hdd onto my new drive from "my pc" menue on windows thanks its very important file on there so cant lose it

Yes, you will be able to do this. Make sure your new HDD with win10 is set as main boot device in BIOS.
