My decent pc had an OS failure and I installed ubuntu onto it, but I just don't like Linux, I have another laptop running vista. Is it possible to put the one running vista into the decent pc?
PC1(Ubuntu)Sdd------PC2
PC2(Vista)Sdd------>PC1
It will work, but you will have to reverify it through microsoft as the operating system is tied to your original motherboard. You can also try a clean install and enter the serial number(should be on the bpottom of your vista laptop)

Highly unlikely that Vista infused drive will actually boot up in a different system.
And if it does, then you run into activation issues.
Plus, now the original Vista laptop has no drive or OS.
