Question Can I test the audio feed on the Motherboard?

Earlier in the year, I purchased an asus B450F motherboard. I have an older case that I have never tried to use the audio mic or headphone jacks on, but they do not work. I have made sure that the two different audio connection plugs have been plugged in correctly, but to no helpful results. I have just one PC case, an older Fractal Designs, and the one MB. Can anyone help me figure out some way to test? I do have a multimeter. Thank you for your help!

Are you using the front panel or the back panel port? If front, do the devices work correctly when attached to the back panel ports?
