Can i tke the heatspreader off Vengance?

Hi,
I was just wondering if i dont OC my ram can i cut a bit of the heatspreader off my ram so it will be compatiable with my Noctua NH-D14? It a $gb stick at the stock 1600MHZ.

U could, but make sure that u will not kill it with the static AC.

Ok and so it definitly wont overheat? I dont think its even doing much because its plastic :S. OO and when i said $gb its meant to read 4gb

Its more for the looks. It will be close to the went, so the air will run through at very high speed and it will be cooled just fine : )

Should i just cut off the top of the heatspreader or just take the whole thing off?

On my system, the cooler was to big with 2 fans to fit with the RAM.

I could not fit it under.

So I temporary removed the fan and inserted the RAM and than re-attached the fan and it fit just right, with 1/4 of inch to spare.

So check yours if u can do anything like that.

What do you mean buy a new set of ram? If so, i cant. I guess i will just take off the whole thing 🙁. If they burn out well i guess i will just have to buy a new set of ram, but their aint much else i can do atm.

IMHO, it will be just fine, unless there is a metal fill in it.

But I don't think there is.
