Im going to help my brother with an upgrade for his current PC. He has been using a 1tb HDD and im going to give him my 1tb Samsung Evo SSD from an old build i had sitting around. I did a recovery on the ssd, deleting all my old files and games. I also ran the "sysprep" and completed the "OOBE". The PC im transferring to has a HDD with windows 10 on it, however the CD key has never been activated on it. Can i simply take out the old HDD and replace it with the SSD? Should i assume that this will work that simply?

You cant just transfer the drive to a new system as have it work properly.
Sometimes the system will boot, but youll run into issues later.
More likely, nothing will work.

You need to do a fresh install with the drive in the new system.
