Question Can I transfer data between two Windows computers with a USB-C to USB-A cable?

I wonder if I could migrate data between two Windows computers with a USB-C to USB-A cable (but not one of those unusual cables with a knot in the middle, just a normal cable) and with Windows default software (not any third party software).

Would that be faster than using a crossover Ethernet cable?

Any help much appreciated.

The USB cable must be a crossover type (that's what that "knot in the middle" is there for) or it will not work at all.

Actually, when using something like Easy Transfer Wizard or USMT the switch causes things to slow by quite a bit. Peer-to-Peer works much better. Since all gigabit ports are auto sensing no crossover cable is needed.
