Hey guys!
I wanted to try "Remnant: From the ashes" so I downloaded a cracked /pirated version of it. Turns out, I enjoyed it a lot and decided to do the right thing. Support the developers and buy the game. I was just wondering if I could transfer my save data from the crack version to the genuine version of steam when I buy it ? So I can keep my progress and equipment. I really love this game. Is it possible ?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Likely not. There may be things written in the save data that will trigger the protection mechanism of the legit copy. Always best to start clean. Just take it as a lesson learned.
There might be some remote chance that saves might even work (depends on the game), though it seems highly unlikely for them to work, since the saves are tied to your STEAM Account.

Pirated games use a different Use Profile for the SAVES, so saves are going to be incompatible in most cases. Also, even the save game location is different for both the pirated and LEGIT copies of the same game (in most of the cases, if not all).

That makes sense, thank you.
Still, would you recommend giving it a shot ?
