Can I transfer windows 8.1 from HDD to SSD?

How do I go about transferring windows 8.1 installed in my HDD to an SSD? Is that even possible?

Possible yes, but if doing the effort, I'd install fresh. Plus, it's good idea to have a "backup" OS still on the HD is the SSD goes south.
