Can I trick a driver?

I bought a msi ds b1 interceptor gaming mouse. I really hate the red led that is always on. I did disable usb power when my computer is off, however I normally have it in sleep. Is there a more elegant solution to disabling an led than unplugging it? (or removing the led) I want to trick a driver from another mouse to think that my mouse is a different one, that I can turn off the led. You're most likely thinking that "all this for an led?" i would reply "Yes" I don't even know if this is possible. Thank you for any support.

yes, you can load the wrong driver, but i'm pretty sure those LEDs don't require a driver, they're just red LEDs.
You could dismantle the mouse and break the LEDs connection to power I suppose.
