Hi,
i have e7400 running at stock speeds with artic cooler 7

basically im getting conflicting readings with temps
everest states

idle instantly after turning off stress goes to these
cpu 45
core 1 43
core 2 45

under load
cpu 51 -52
core 1 51 -52
core 2 51-51

sandra says instantly after turning off stress goes to these

idle
cpu
core 1 45.50
core 2 45.50

under load
cpu
core 1 48.50
core 2 48.50

speedfan says instantly after turning off stress goes to these

idle
cpu 45
core 1 43
core 2 45

load
cpu 51-52
core 1 51-52
core 2 50-52

asus pc probe after 5 mins or so as instantly after they still the same as load
idle
cpu 30
core 1
core 2

load
cpu 36
core 1
core 2

any ideas please

i do plan on oc this chips so i need to get some sort of understanding what is correct, i know the cpu and core tmpes should vary but the main progs i expect to give an accurate ready seem to be false readings and only the pc probe sounds real to me, idle 28-30 sound normal case temp is 21 mb is 27.
but not in the other progs 45 idle sounds high to me considering the case is super cool

Hi real temp again reports
core 1 43
core 2 45
are these results so normal? and how can they be that differnet to the bios? i mean my case is temp in 2 places is 21 , are the cpu normal the coolest it gets is 43? should i rma these back as they only 2 days old as from what i read it sounds as if the sensors are stuck

I've heared that the onboard temp sensors are only accurate enough to detect if the cpu temp reaches the threshold in which the mobo needs to shut down. If that is then how can any of these temp programs be more accurate then another?

hmm intersting so when peeps are overclocking how can they no what is safe overclock. i dnt know what temp these chips operate at idle but i always read of people in high 20's low 30s with air cooling.
mine in windows using a variety of programs is always in 40's i have 2 case fans at front sucking. 1 at side sucking at 1 at top and 1 at back blowing out and my case temp is 20 degrees so how can my proc be 44 ish my old amd athlon and my old p4 ran cooler and thse are meant to be cool processors

i dont want 100% accurate but the best guess i feel my temp results in windows besides pc probe are incorrect as its impossible to lose 15-20 degress by just resetting to the bios

pc probe states closest to bios temps at idle obviously thse fluctuate ccording to the load in windows. .however the cooling takes time to get back down to what is was as it should. with the other programs lots to list the temps rise almost instantly to 50 - 55 and then as soon as load is stopped instantly 43 and 45

seems weird
