Can i UNDERCLOCK my XFX gtx 260???

i have a gtx 260 n a 17" crt monitor.i play games at 1280 x 1024 resolution,the highest my monitor supports.so it's obvious that my pc doesnt use even 20% of the gtx 260's full power.so my ques is,can i underclock my gpu so that it consumes less power???.........i'm not a tech guy so i don even kno if there is such a thing as underclocking...so pls spare me on that one if there isnt 😀

haha lol i actually bought dis gtx 260 2nd hand...d guy was going abroad n selling all his pc parts.d deal was too good to resist.d gpu was only 4 mnths used with 8 mnths warrranty left n i got it at only half d normal price 😛

And how much was it after half off?? Oh and dont worry about underclocking when the gpu isnt being used it clocks itself down. Will at least mine does 300mhz core, 100mhz memory.

well i live in bangladesh.price is like skyhigh here for pc parts.a new gtx 260 is 22,500 tk/usd 375 (60tk=1 us$).i bought it for 13000 tk/usd 216.guess that's not bad is it.especially considering the fact that i plan to upgrade to atleast a 22" lcd monitor by dis year.then d gpu will come in handy.n thnx for d info

What a small world! I was born in Bangladash. Lived in Dhaka for a few year then moved to the states. Ya you got a pretty good deal. I know how parts there extremely expensive, but the pirated software sell cheap compared to here haha.

i live in dhaka 😀 my windows xp cost me 40 tk (75 cents) n i buy 2 dvd games for around $2.guess that makes up for all the expensive parts i guess 😀😀
