can i update bios on a 6gen lga1151 motherboard using a 7th gen cpu ?

im buying this h170 motherboard but im afraid that its incompatible with my new g4560 because its a 7th gen and the bios is still 6th gen, but i saw in youtube that i can download the update from the bios settings and install the update without needing to boot up on windows, will that work ?

will the system boot up to go to bios settings ?

im afraid that if its incompatible it will blow up or something

Only if the mobo support bios update without cpu. only few motherboard have that feature.

the mobo is Asus h170m-d3 that has ez flash 3

but does that also mean that the system will not even boot up if i use the 7th cpu ?

The board does not feature the Flashback. What you can do is order a BIOS chip on ebay and replace the board's one. It's not difficult.
The system would not boot if the board's BIOS version did not support the CPU.
