Good evening all, recently i purchased a little GT 710 GPU to replace my HD6450. Once opening i installed and to my surprise my PC just went to the setup screen and wouldn't boot to windows. I thought the GPU was bricked but after a few searches i have discovered that my BIOS is too out of date to handle the GPU. It's an AMI BIOS Version 7.14. I have googled it and HP's website is near useless, referencing that because I am on Windows 10 i'm on my own. Even on Windows 8 or 7 it doesn't show any drivers for the BIOS. Iv'e seen online that people can Flash their BIOS by inserted a flash drive and using that.

I'm so lost, my PC is a HP PRO 3300 SFF. I understand it's an old PC and it's not a gaming PC but i use it to play some old games sometimes on top of work related stuff, i can't return this card now . Am i screwed?

Thank you all for your time.

Solution
Your HP PRO 3300 SFF has a legacy BIOS, whereas the GT 710 requires the newer UEFI BIOS that all new/recent computers now have.

You cannot update the legacy BIOS to UEFI even if HP had any BIOS updates for that PC model (which it seems they don't as none listed on their downloads page).

Only way you can use that GPU is on a new/newer PC which has UEFI bios.
