Can I update this BIOS from a different model HP desktop since it is the same ROM family?

The issue I'm having is I can't get the computer to post after installing an EVGA 1060 GTX GPU. The monitor is onbut just with a blank screen.

I updated to the current recommended BIOS from HP but noticed that there is an almost 1 yr newer BIOS for a similar desktop that is available. Both computers have the same motherboard and the rom family is the same for both

the BIOS is specific to the motherboard and chipset in your machine. using a different model BIOS can brick yor machine. don't do it.

If you want to brick your motherboard go ahead. If you don't want to brick it, don't do it!

If that BIOS update applied to your PC model it would be shown on the downloads page for your model.
