So I have a pretty outdated HP desktop and I was looking to upgrade my graphics card. It currently has a GTX 550 TI (I know, pretty old) and I wanted to install a GTX 1050 TI. Some information about my motherboard (I'm assuming this is the key component to understand if I can upgrade my GPU):

Solution
really your biggest obstacles are POWER SUPPLY and whether the mother board has UEFI bios (which most sandy bridge motherboards DID have, but you could always double check which version of bios your motherboard is running on, it's either LEGACY or UEFI) You should be running something like a 400watt PSU for a 1050ti.
