There’s a laptop that I’d like to buy but I’ve just realised it’s windows 10 S, so I can’t download and install third party stuff, I can only download and install apps from the Microsoft App Store. There’s videos I’ve seen on YouTube where you can switch out of windows 10 S and it changes to windows 10 home, is this possible with any laptop that has windows 10 S?

How to Upgrade from Windows 10 S to Full Windows

Hit Windows Key + X then select System from the menu that appears.
Scroll down and click "Change product key or switch to Windows 10 Pro" (on yours it might be "Windows 10 Home").
Click "Go to Store." You'll be transported to a page in the Windows Store.
Click Get. ...
Click Install.
Click "Yes, Let's Go."

Many thanks! So can this be done on any laptop/PC that’s running Windows 10 S? There’s no restrictions or reason why they wouldn’t let you switch? I just don’t want to take the risk of buying a laptop then finding out for some reason I wouldn’t be able to switch

I can't state categorically it will work on any laptop, but so far, I've seen no printed restrictions or limitations.
