Hello,

i plan to buy Lenovo-Z710 (i3-4000M, GT 745M) and thinking about futher upgrade...

Can I upgrade i3-4000M (chipset HM86) to i7-4700MQ, 4800MQ or 4900MQ

Some versions alredy are selling on E-bay with configuaration i7-4700MQ...But 4700 is 47W TDP...

So here is the question... the same motherboard+same chipset - can support 47W for i7-4800(4810) or 4900 ???

Will it work properly?

Thanks...

Hi,

Yes I saw It supports 4700MQ, but I would like to know if Cooling system work good with 47W of 4700MQ, - Can I install 4710MQ, 4800MQ, 4810MQ, 4900MQ, or 4910MQ ???

All these processors are compatible with HM86 Chip Set ... And have the same TDP 47W...

It depends. OEM’s like that don’t always update their boards to support all CPU’s that could otherwise be supported. For example I recently had a PC from our office that was completely up to date. It was running an H110 chipset but wouldn’t support any Kaby Lake processors at all. It comes down to the manufacturer to enable certain processors.

It should work but it’s not guaranteed.
