Question Can I upgrade my ASUS Rampage II Extreme?

I'm want to upgrade my ASUSTeK Computer INC. Rampage II Extreme (LGA1366) to a new motherboard and I have a few questions:

1. What would be a good motherboard to upgrade to? (Compatible with LGA1150 or LGA1151)
2. Would this new motherboard be able to replace the Rampage II Extreme motherboard? I'm not sure about how much the size varies between motherboards.

Doesn't really matter, anything that can keep up with todays gaming standards at high settings. Do you have any recommendations for a CPU aswell?
