Can I upgrade my computer CPU?

Basically, I want to know if I can upgrade my CPU. I bought a pre-built gaming pc in 2015 and i want to know now to if i can or not upgrade it. If not then I'll just buy or build a new PC.

You can upgrade it but not to the latest ones. The Core i7 4790K is the best you can get. It's still a good CPU but it's a bit overpriced even while buying used. The i5 8400 can match it or beat it in a lot of scenarios. If you go with the 8400 the downside is you cannot reuse your RAM. You have to upgrade to DDR4 which is quite expensive. Also you'll need a new motherboard. Either option you go with will serve you well for a few years at least. Neither option will be too expensive. Though if you want 16GB of DDR4 you better be ready to pay around $200. I also recommend a GTX 1050 ti or 1060. Whichever you can afford.
