Can I upgrade my cpu from i7-7700K to 8700K with my. Urgent ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F Mobo, or is the chipset not compatible?

No, your mobo doesnt support 8xxx and 9xxx series. Looking at your spec dont see the reason why change, basicly you have best cpu for that generation. i know it has 4 cores and now everyone is just talking about cores 6,8,12,16,50,300000 cores!!! If you are gaming and not using few specific programs that can really use all those cores your CPU is great. Now to change the cpu you need to change mobo and your gain will not be high.
