Can I upgrade my CPU to an FX-6300

I'd like to upgrade my CPU to the AMD FX-6300 & I don't know where to find if my BIOS will support it. I have a Phoenix BIOS v 5.14. Also my current the CPU says it's a Socket AM2+ (940) & the new CPU is an AM3+, is there anything else I need to look into before purchasing this new CPU?

YES you will need a new motherboard that has the am3+ socket atherwise you cpu WILL NOT FIT

wicht 1 depens on what you woud like

overlocking need a way higher grade motherboard

so is way more expensive

You check the boards webpage on the manufacturers site for a cpu support list .
If its AM2+ it will fit in the socket , but alas its not going to run

Yeah dude I did, & the Model it showed wasn't the exact model I have, it wasn't listed. I'm probably gonna have to get a new MB & everything...
