Can I upgrade my CPU

I currently have in my system a Intel Pentium XE 925, socket 775 LGA on a Con-roe1333-D667 motherboard, this CPU does not support hardware virtualization, so my question is can I upgrade my CPU without having to upgrade my motherboard etc.

I know this is not a very new system but I don't have much dosh so I have to look for the cheapest option, I like to play with new software releases and increasingly now we need to have this virtualization technology

any advise would be most welcome

you can upgrade that to a core 2 dual and enjoy a nice boost.

anything from this list should work but you might have to double check the motherboard.
