Can I upgrade my Dell latitude d630 CPU to a Intel core i5 or i7?

Hi there I was wondering if I can upgrade my Dell latitude d630 CPU to a Intel core i5 or i7 If I can't what is the best CPU I can upgrade to for the dell latitude d630? Any help is greatly appreciated BTW can I put a desktop CPU in a laptop thx 😀 - djcjf

You can only put mobile CPUs in due to power consumption, and only compatible chips. The best chip you could upgrade to is probably a Core2 Duo T9900.

We have a D630 and tried to use a T9900 with it, but it won't work. We upgraded the Bios to A19, and it still won't work. Do you know how to make the T9900 work with the D630??
