Question Can I upgrade my hp 15 dy4013dx laptop resolution to 1080p?

The product description says it won't work with laptops with a different resolution, but I don't see why it would not.
Most likely due to different pinout.

Here is laptop display connector pinouts,

You have connector with D pinout, while 1080p panel has pinout E. So, even when you connect 1080p panel and physical connector is the same, laptop itself isn't designed to use the E type pinout, instead, is expecting to use D type pinout. With this, E type pinout (1080p) won't work.

Thank you for the information! This is really helpful, are you aware of any 1080p screens which have a D pinout or are they all type E?

Just read the pinout charts i linked. It is impossible for 1080p screen to have D layout since it is single-lane and doesn't have enough bandwidth for 1080p reso.
For 1080p reso, E layout, with dual-lane is needed.

If you want 1080p screen, either buy a new laptop or use external 1080p monitor.
