mobile processors are not the same as desktop processors, all mobile i5 are dual cores

edit:
you could upgrade, but it´s likely the BIOS won´t recognize the new CPU.
for quad core you would need to buy a mobile i7

The i7 2630QM is a quad-core with (8 threads), sorry for the bad explanation

the i7 will produce more heat and needs more wattage
i5-2410m = 35W (Tjunction=100°C/max. Temp.)
i7-2630qm = 45W (Tjunction=100°C/max. Temp.)

How much wattage does the external power supply have? Eventually you will need to buy another psu with more power.

I don´t know, if the cooling system inside your asus k43sv with I5 is comparable to an asus k43sv with I7. You could get temperature problems with the i7. Which temperature is your current I5 reaching under load? Test with the tools prime95 and realtemp for about 10minutes and post the Temp.

If you really replace the i5, you will need new thermal paste for the new CPU, like Coolaboratory Liquid Pro. Most likely the heatsink is not cooling just the i5, but the graphics chip too. So you need to replace the thermal compound of this chip.

Your current graphics chip is definitely soldered to the mainboard, no way to replace it.

If you wanna upgrade because of games, even the I7 would be a waste of money. No real performance boost. For video editing and professional stuff, it could be worth it.
