Question Can I upgrade the RAM on this laptop ?

Hello

I have the following laptop: HP Pavilion 14 ce3051na
Specs here: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06549003

It currently has 8GB ram. Would it be possible for me to upgrade to at least 16GB (or 32GB if possible) and if so, what specification RAM would I need to get?

Looks like that laptop only has a single slot so you would need to replace what you have. According to the service manual you'd need to update the BIOS to whatever the latest version is before doing a memory upgrade.

In the Maintenance and Service Guide on page 71 it has the details for replacing memory and the first instructions on that page are:

Update BIOS before adding memory modules
Before adding new memory, make sure you update the computer to the latest BIOS.

Thanks. I've gone to the HP support page to get the latest bios, but when I put in serial number, it then only comes up with options for the system as Windows 10, whereas I have windows 11. There is one BIOs update I could download, but it is for Windows 10 os. So do I just not upgrade the BIOs and add the new memory?

I can't attach screen shot...
My current version is Insyde f.14 (2021) Windows 11 Home, the one for download is F.21Rev A released 2023 (for Windows 10).

The update should work with Windows 11 as well. No worries.

Thanks, so you don't think it's worth me uninstalling Windows or doing a factory reset and putting Windows back to Windows 10?

Shouldn't be necessary as long as everything is running well otherwise. Just run the updater after you download it.
