I have an ASUS R588U laptop with an Intel Core i5 7200U *up to 3.1 GHz CPU, 8GB RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce 940 MX.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the graphics card to a GTX 1060.

Solution
No, the nVidia 940mx is soldered into the motherboard. Only specific gaming laptop models will allow you to upgrade the GPU and they typically start at $1,300+. They use a GPU format called MXM which is like a little card (MXM form factor) that is inserted into a MXM slot.
from what i know, u can't upgrade a laptop's GPU (u can't replace it, EVEN if u can, laptops use M-series which means the size won't fit desktop's GPU)
however, u can use an external device to utilizes external graphic card instead of the interal GPU (like razor stealth with its utility)

No you can't
Going gpu is a option but you have a weak cpu so don't do it.

Even then most laptops have a bios lock that prevents you from getting any newer card.

It gets a bit more complicated than that though since there are also various MXM form factor specifications as well. My post is to simply make the OP aware there there are specific laptops out there that do allow the GPU to be upgraded (to a certain degree), but those laptops are not inexpensive.
