Hi guys... this is a prebuilt/bought pc, with standard case

I am hoping i can upgrade the PSU and GFX (i really want a GTX 960 with a 500-550 PSU...

One of my friends says i can as he has built his pc's... another friend says i can't because she couldn't do it with hers (i have showed her the same photos)... now, if i CANT upgrade would PC world be able to do it for me (being the shop i bought it from) Please say yes! i am sick of my radeon r7 240 and 360 watt PSU...

There is nothing wrong with the mini-itx version of the 960. I only suggested it, because those pictures are not very good, so I was not about to choose a card that could be too long. Now knowing the PC series, I was able to find a better picture. The mini-itx version is not necessary. The standard length GTX 960's will do just fine. I still stand by my PSU suggestion, do to price, quality, and that it is modular. I wouldn't want a non modular PSU, in that case...
I see no reason why it isn't possible. To save on space, I would consider the mini-itx version of the GTX 960. Also, get a modular PSU. Here is my recommendation. I would have went with the Seasonic 520w, but this 620w PSU, from Antec is very good and only a penny more.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card ($199.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($68.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $267.99

what is the exact model of this prebuilt pc? how wide is the case? how many inches from the pcie16x slot to the side panel?

there are a few gtx960s that are quite small. length from front to back doesn't look like it would be an issue but if the case is too slim you may have trouble getting the side panel back on.

if you throw an antec vp450 power supply in there you would be fine as far as power goes. your 360w power supply probably shouldn't be pushed too hard. it might work fine but i recommend you

ok the MOBO is an ASUS M11AD CPU is quad core i5 4440s 2.80 Ghz 8.1 gb ram... also i have sent pictures of the case? cant you tell by that (sorry im a hardware noob)

EDIT: i dont have enough for a complete over haul... i can only afford the GFX and PSU

yes you can upgrade
yes that cpu will support any gpu
yes there is enough room in the case for a psu that will support whatever gpu you choose
you are completely good to go

sidenote, dont get the "mini itx" card someone else suggested to "save on space."

That PC is upgradeabile.
Just depends on what is in it to know how much needs to be upgraded.

EDITD: Had not refreshed before you listed your specs.

You have more then enough CPU for any graphics card.
Just get the GPU you can afford and a quality PSU to match.
Make sure to get a quality 80 plus rated PSU from Antec, XFX, Seasonic, EVGA (not NEX). Not all PSUs are made the same and just because they slap a 600w sticker on it does not mean it is certified to even handle 450w. In short, don't go cheap on the part that can destroy everything else

wow... now i AM confused lol... thank you so much for the help guys
