[SOLVED] Can i upgrade to a gtx 1060 3gb?

Solution
Also does the rx580 work with 8gb ddr3 ram?

PCIe slots are standardized same goes with power supply connections, most of the time. The only time you might have an issue with apower supply is with the motherboard and cpu power connections which on some Dell, HP,etc brands they can use non standard connectors. You will need to check your mobo for that

RAM makes no difference to the functionality of a graphics card.
Depends on the Optiplex. If you have one of the slim versions, neither the 1060 or that ATX powersupply will fit.

If it is the standard form that uses a ATX size power supply then the 1060 will fit but I strongly suggest you buy a better PSU instead of the fire hazard quality one you linked.

The Corsair CX or CXM 450 are usually the go to budget PSUs.

So if this can fit it, all i need is the recommended psu you told me and the gpu?

Yes. that one uses a standard ATX sized power supply so the PSU I suggested should work.

Im not sure where you are located but for the GTX1060 it shouldn't cost more then around 100 USD used. You can also find a RX580 somewhat cheaper on the used market as well.
And are you sure that the psu you listed me has like valid pcie slots for the 580? Also i live in new jersey.

Hello. My current tower is an optiplex 3010 Intel i5 2400 QuadCore 8GB DDR3 RAM. Not sure about motherboard. I was wondering if i upgrade the psu to this 400 watt https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SEALED-Dynex-400-Watt-ATX-CPU-Power-Supply-DX-400WPS-White-6-Pin-PCI-Express/362846089417

If i can install a gtx 1060 3gb.

If you are going for i5 2400. I Suggest either just get 1050ti or 1650

You are not going to survive with that PSU with GPU that required a pin connector. Cuz it only has +12v @ 15A rating.. watts = 15A × 12V = 180W TOTAL.. That nowhere near 400 Watts.

That PSU can run fine with 1650 or 1050ti..

An Example of 400WATTS psu would have at least rating of 12V @ 30A.
