Can i upgrade to i7 3770k?

I have lga 1155 mobo, and in their website it says
''Processor upgrade information

Socket type: LGA 1155
TDP: Max 65W
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
Core i3-2xxx/T dual core

Core i5-2xxx quad core
Core i7-2xxx quad core''

and i7 3770k is lga 1155 procesor, can i upgrade to i7 3770k or not, when it supports at its best i7 2xxx quad core processors?

According to pcpartpicker, yes you can. But in the long run, I would advise you to swap out your motherboard to get more recent CPU’s. Say, an lga 1151 socket (for intel) or AM4 (for amd) and some of the more recent cpus. An i3 of today is practically the i7 of yesterday, and that i3 is only half price.

What motherboard? If the i7-3xxx is not on the list of supported processors, then I'd presume they are not supported.

Your mobo supports the i7-3770k

Suggestions:
For intel,
Get a motherboard with an lga 1151 socket in order to use more recent intel processors. (I3 7100, i7 7700, etc)

For amd,
Get a motherboard with an amd4 socket in order to use more recent processors (Ryzen 3, 5, 7)

Looking at the new info, and considering that this is most likely a pc bought from a retail company, then no, it won’t support the processor you have mentioned. Can’t really bend the rules with a Pc manufacturer.

PS: if your motherboard is an LGA 1155 it probably does support a 3rd generation i7 or an i5. I'd ask a technician before upgrading.
